on tense day of funeral for Hell's Angel;
Police yesterday arrested a Massachusetts man
who they say was a bodyguard to a high-ranking member of the Outlaws
Motorcycle Club. Christopher Legere of Dracut, Massachusetts, was
the only member of a motorcycle club arrested during a tense
day for police yesterday following the funeral for a leader in the state's
Hells Angels who was shot dead last Sunday.
Police say the 36-year-old Legere was charged with
criminal possession of body armor by a convicted felon.
Police say Legere has been convicted of sex offenses,
and that he is a member of an Outlaws chapter in New Hampshire.
Legere was arrested outside the home of the a spokesman for the Outlaws.
The Outlaws and Hells Angels are fierce rivals.
No Outlaws have been named as suspects in last Sunday's shooting and
Connecticut members deny any involvement.

The life of Framingham murder victim Eddie Schiller
will be remembered this summer in an annual motorcycle ride he co-founded
years ago.
Friends from Framingham’s Xtreme Riders Motorcycle Riding Club
will dedicate their sixth annual Fun Run to Schiller, who was a strong
supporter, but not a member, of the group. The event is scheduled for
July 16.
"Of anybody, Eddie was the coolest, most likable guy that’s
out there," said Kevin "Blade" Corey, president of Xtreme
Riders. "This year’s ride is in memory of him."
Corey said the event usually draws 50 to 60 bikers on a route that takes
them up into New Hampshire. This year he said he expects up to 100 as
a result of "Eddie’s demise."
In January, Schiller, 39, was found shot in the head in a parking garage
next to his office in Newton. On Tuesday, police arrested two Massachusetts
men in connection with the murder.
One of the men, James Brescia of Waltham, is accused of hiring a hit
man to kill Schiller, who apparently was having a relationship with
James’ estranged wife, Stacey Brescia. When Corey was asked if
he knew about Schiller’s relationship with Stacey Brescia, he responded,
"No comment."
