Blockhead City Press today announced that their first title, OUT IN BAD STANDINGS: Inside the Bandidos Motorcycle Club The Making of a Worldwide Dynasty, was recently ranked at # 41 on the Barnes & Noble bookstores website, indicating that the book was one of their best selling titles this month. Since its release in November 2005, Out In Bad Standings has now sold more than five thousand copies, to book readers in almost every country in the World. When ex-motorcycle gang leader Edward Winterhalder set out to find a publisher for his memoirs, he thought that locating a literary agent and book publisher for his project would be a simple task. After all, it wasnt as though hundreds of books had already been written on the subject. On the contrary, this was a subject on which less than twenty-five books had ever been written, and of those twenty-five books, most all of had been written by an outsider or journalist. However, as many writers realize, finding a literary agent and/or publisher willing to work with a novice author is a daunting task. Failing in his quest to find an agent or publisher, but not willing to give up, Mr. Winterhalder established Blockhead City Press to facilitate his dream becoming reality. The result was a top quality, four hundred forty-eight page hardcover book that contains more than one hundred seventy thousand words and one hundred color photographs. Detailing the establishment and growth of a motorcycle gang organization in Canada, Europe and Oklahoma, this expose of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club is arguably the finest history book ever written on the subject of the United States motorcycle gangs. A perfect compliment for the history section of any library worldwide, OUT IN BAD STANDINGS gives the reader a rare look into the world of todays 1%er motorcycle clubs. OUT IN BAD STANDINGS ($29.95 ISBN 0977174700) is now available. For more information: www.blockheadcity.com/ outinbadstandings.htm or contact: Caroline Haynor ###

April 15 2006; Sallisaw, OK, USA; Oklahoma motor bike biker news; Bikers & BBQ Planned In Sallisaw. By Monica Keen, Staff Writer At Main Street's Tuesday night meeting, Bikers & BBQ organizers, Margaret Perry and Gary Stites, gave board members an update about the upcoming annual fundraising event, which is held on the same Saturday as the Sallisaw Lion's Club Rodeo. This year the biker event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. "We had an event last year at the library," Stites said. "We're repeating that this year...and we're hoping it will be bigger and better." There were 11 barbecue teams last year, and more are expected this year. Stites said there will be celebrity judges for the barbecue, and taster kits to sample the barbecue will be sold for $5. Stites and Perry stressed that the taster kits are not intended to be a full meal. They will have food vendors available at the event, including Lupitas and Old Feed Barn, both of Sallisaw, and a concession stand for drinks will also be set up. Live music will be provided by the local bands Blacklist and Awesome Possum, and motorcycle games will be held to keep the crowd entertained, Stites said. As part of the motorcycle poker run, participants will ride around Lake Tenkiller, drawing a total of five cards from designated checkpoints along the way. "Like a typical poker hand," Stites said. Barbecue teams interested in signing up may call Perry at (918) 755-4104. Stites said more information will be distributed throughout the community as the event draws closer. Proceeds from the event will go toward a special grant program for downtown businesses to apply to get money for renovations and other improvements - all part of Main Street's effort to restore and revitalize the downtown business district. In other business, the board accepted the resignation of Cheryl Vann, who was a board of director, and nominated Kerry Bauer to replace Vann. Julie Ferguson updated the board about Main Street's tax-exempt status, and Bauer overviewed the first completed grant project. Main Street awarded five $1,000 improvement grants in January to five businesses or property owners in the downtown district to renovate their property. A building on Elm Street, owned by Sallee-P lunkett Properties, was the first to finish their project, giving their building a new look with paint and other exterior work. The board also discussed having a car show for Oct. 14. The board discussed the possibility of having a burnout contest and a cruise night as part of the show, but the project is still in the works. The next Main Street meetings are set for June 26 and July 11. Get this motorcycle
